Because of COVID-19 and school closures, three schools in High Point, North Carolina, had empty shelves. Every book purchased with a High Point Community Foundation grant has been checked out. "A child who reads will grow up to be a thinking adult," says Ramon Martinez, a media specialist at Oak View Elementary School.
